대체공휴 확대, '쉬는 국경일'에만 적용…성탄절·석탄일 제외
The South Korean government has decided it will adopt the substitute holiday system when national holidays fall on a weekend.
The Ministry of Personnel Management said on Thursday that the pre-announcement of the substitute holiday bill will be made Friday.
It will mean that, if a national holiday falls on a weekend, the following Monday will be designated as a substitute holiday.
This applies to South Korea's National Liberation Day on August 15th, the National foundation Day on October 3rd, and Hangul Proclamation Day on October 9th.
The ministry said that the revised law is expected guarantee people a day off and take some of the business management burden off small and medium enterprises.
