THIS is how to help someone through their anxiety | Mel Robbins

My husband Chris uses three calming strategies to help me when I start feeling my anxiety rise. Turns out they’re super simple and work like a charm. You’ll want to watch this and steal everything Chris says. This is some serious wisdom.

1:22 - Center them with physical touch. Give them a hug or hold their hand. Be up close and personal with what they are experiencing.

2:38 - Ask questions about what their anxiety feels like. Ask them what's happening physically and emotionally. Keep asking, "Anything else?" to pull out everything that could be making them anxious.

3:15 - Don't provide answers to their responses or offer solutions, just listen and acknowledge. Make them feel heard but TRULY listening, deeply, to the emotions they are experiencing.
