This is our 6th year of starting Emancipation Month and we decided to start a tradition, every 5 years, we have a Sankofa moment and look back at our history. Here is part 1 which is year one of the first Emancipation Month ceremony and the first UNIA-ACL flag raising in Canadian history. Thank you to our Emancipation Queen Ngarambe Rita Laurence for the opening and closing remarks, Adam Ndaro Solomon my brother, and our minister of music, thank you to everyone who held a camera(especially MY Queen Suzette Vidale ) or sent me a photo so that we can preserve our history. So many people made this so special for me, I can't thank you all in this post but if you are on camera..believe me you are on my heart! Happy Emancipation Day ... By the way.. did I mention we have our own park Emancipationparkbrampton Signed - Dewitt Lee III - Co-founder of Emancipation Month
