Shredding Unsolicited Mail

Every week, my mailbox is stuffed with unsolicited offers. Most of this junk mail is from financial institutions where entire marketing departments are busy working on offer details, mail design, and campaign timing. I have tried in earnest to opt out, with limited success. Maybe watching how this creative advertising ends up will make some marketing folks think about job change to something more meaningful?
