Abortions have been put front and centre of upcoming US elections after the Supreme Court ruled not to halt a controversial Texas law banning the practice.
Democrats and Republicans see the topic as a motive for voters as some states work to follow suit.
Democrats warn voters that the conservative-leaning Supreme Court will continue to allow protections to be ruled back, while at least three other Republican-led states say they may try to copy Texas.
The White House says the president will try to take a whole-of government approach to stop the law before other states join.
