Heavy rains have been falling in the Indian region of Saurashtra since yesterday.
The area around the city of Jamnagar suffered the most.
Over the past 12 hours, more than 15 centimeters of precipitation have fallen there.
Hundreds of houses were flooded with water, many roads turned into rivers.
Residents have to build temporary bridges to get to their homes.
And some even have to spend the night on the roofs.
The situation deteriorated so much that the Gujarat state government ordered a rescue operation using helicopters to evacuate local residents.
There is no information on the damage caused yet.
