Gun Accessibility Apparently Major Factor in School Shootings Increase

Rafiq Ahmad, of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement, joins Tashanea Whitlow on “BNC Live” following a school shooting that left four people injured at a Texas high school.

Police arrested Timothy George Simpkins, 18, after a shooting that left four people injured at Timberview High School. Simpkins is being held on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The shooting comes just a week after a similar incident in Houston, where a principal was injured when a former student opened fire at YES Prep Southwest Secondary. Ahmad cites gun accessibility and lack of conflict-resolution lessons in schools for two of the reasons there appears to be an increase in school shootings.
