This video talks in detail about different stages of introducing cats to each other to avoid nasty cat fight and cat aggression. New cat can take a while to adjust, similarly your resident cat might take a while to adjust to this new intruder, so take your time, do things slow, and DON'T rush, else you'll end up with a very unhappy kitten/cat!
