Why India favours Russian weapons; Report reveals India's message to U.S on 'costlier alternatives'

A Bloomberg report has claimed that India has clarified to the U.S on its reasons to choose Russian weapons over others. The report states that India told U.S Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland that other alternatives were costlier and that Russian companies were willing to set up joint ventures with Indian companies, which U.S defence arms are reluctant.
