We made a spanner 🔧 by casting.
Casting is a manufacturing process in which a liquid material is usually poured into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify. The solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or broken out of the mold to complete the process.

There are five steps in the casting process :-
Patternmaking,
Molding,
Melting and pouring,
Shakeout, and
Heat treatment and inspection.

Here we done casting with sand mould that means that is the one type of sand casting.

Sand moulding
Sand molding is a metal equipment casting method that provides a desired design shape to the end product by pouring molten steel or other metal into a sand mold and letting it solidify in atmospheric temperature conditions. The products produced by sand molding are made in specialized factories known as foundries.

There are six steps in this process :-
Place a pattern in sand to create a mold.
Incorporate the pattern and sand in a gating system. Remove the pattern.
Fill the mold cavity with molten metal.
Allow the metal to cool.
Break away the sand mold and remove the casting.

Here we are using a coal furnace to melt a material.
Process Features:
Coal burns in the furnace around the ladle filled with non-ferrous metals. A small blower supplies the air to the grate of the furnace for burning of fuel at high temperature (1200 0 C). 10 kg metal melts within one hour at 1000 0C in batch process. This is a simple and low cost furnace.
