About this video: In this video, we show you exactly how to download and install the OptiFabric Mod in Minecraft 1.17.1. This mod will allow you to add Optifine to Minecraft 1.17.1 using the Fabric Mod Loader. That means that you can now use Fabric with shaders without any issues. It also means that you can improve the performance of Fabric mods using Optifine. The choice is up to you. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to download and install OptiFabric in Minecraft 1.17.1!
The first step of getting Optifine with Fabric is installing the Fabric Mod Loader itself. You can find a link to the Fabric Installer download link in the description above. Once you are there, click on the Unviersal/.jar’ download. You will need to keep/save the file depending on your browser. From there, open up the installer file with Java and install Fabric 1.17.1 This is outlined in-depth in the video.
We then need to move on to downloading the OptiFabric Mod. You can find the OptiFabric mod linked in the description above. When you click that link, it will take you to the official OptiFabric download page. Look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.17’ section. Under that section, you will see a 1.17.1 version of Opitfabric. Click the orange download button to the left of this, and the download will begin. You will need to keep or save OptiFabric. OptiFabric 1.17.1 is the bridge that allows Optifine to actually work with Fabric.
There is still one more thing that we need to download, and that is Optifine itself. You can find the Optifine download link above. That will actually take you too our website. There, click on the ‘Download Optifine’ button to be take to the Optifine download page. On this page, click the ‘mirror’ button next to the Optifine 1.17.1 version. Then, click the ‘Download Optifine 1.17.1’ link on the page that opens. Optifine 1.17.1 will download, and you will need to keep or save it.
Finally, we can learn how to install OptiFabric in Minecraft 1.17.1. To do this, press the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. The Run application will open. In the text box in this application, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will open. In this folder, you will see a .minecraft folder. Open that, and you should see a ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t have a mods folder, just create one! Finally, to install Optifine with the Fabric Mod Loader in 1.17.1, just download Optifine and the OptiFabric mod into this mod folder. It’s that easy to install Optifine with Fabric.
We aren’t complete finished though. We still need to open up the Minecraft Launcher, click the little arrow next to the Play button, select the ‘Fabric’ profile/version here, and click Play. Minecraft 1.17.1 will the open up with Optifine and Fabric installed. Feel free to add other 1.17.1 Fabric mods to your mods folder to use them with Optifine.
