Hi guys after years of neglect and dogs and making the inside of my home homely I decided to revamp my garden. I couldn't afford expensive designers and labour so I designed a layout that I could do myself and therefore not too complicated. I picked up my pen and notepad where I drew and drew and drew all sorts of ideas. It just kind of evolved but I had definite ideas of what I wanted. I had no diy skills whatsoever but with the help of youtube videos and tutoring from my husband I learned how to use a drill, cut wood, produce 2 water features and put things together. I started this project in june and it took me so long because I worked mainly on my own although I credit my husband for doing what he could when he could. After laying tons of gravel the weeds came through so because I had a bad back through shovelling I resorted to using a bucket that I could lift to shift 8 ton of gravel back and forth which took me some time I can tell you! Water got through some joins on the bar and had to be completely re-sanded and dried out and then re-varnished. There where other factors such as time, ordering, money delivery times and of course the weather!
I so enjoyed doing this garden and you guys were with me all the way! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, we've had a few giggles haven't we! You have no idea of the wonderful part you have played in this, reading your comments, chatting in videos and sharing my progress. Your feedback and positivity and that beautiful energy you produce collectively has accompanied me all the way to this point. It is I that am greatful to you.
Its important for me to emphasise that its not the material aspect of this garden that brings me great joy. Its the fact that I set myself a goal and I reached it, I worked hard physically mentally and there were only 2 points in time that I wondered if I could do this and had an overwhelming sense of panic and loss of confidence. I over came this by finding love in what I was doing no matter the result. I loved everything about it, being knocked out by a rake, shelves falling on me, bbqs crushing me and hiding countless parcels from my husband! Me and my husband bickering, me screaming repeatedly in the garden "I can't do it!" But as you can see.. I can do it and I have done it. The greatest truth I found in myself during this, was that if you put your back into you can achieve more than you ever dreamed of!!!! Enjoy, much love Bigfatpsychic xxx
