
The Taoiseach has said that the Government cannot rule out taking measures to reduce the impact the spread of Covid-19 was having on the health service.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Covid, Micheál Martin said he was "extremely concerned" at the increase in Covid case numbers and the consequences for the country's hospitals.
Earlier, the chief executive of the HSE, Paul Reid, said the situation was 'grim' with seven in ten patients currently in intensive care requiring ventilation.
